Why Pragmatic Play built the table around a shared hand
Pragmatic Play came to live casino later than its rivals, so it had to find something to be noticed for. With blackjack it settled on availability: the table has no numbered seats, which means you will never find it full.
The principle is straightforward. The dealer deals one opening pair of cards, every player who has joined receives it, and the dealer plays a single hand of their own against the whole group. From there each player decides alone, and the game shows you nothing but your own branch of the round.
The second pillar is rhythm. Rounds run faster here than at a classic table with seven seats, for the simple reason that nobody is waiting while the player next door thinks their move over.
Anyone who knows the rest of this provider's live catalogue will recognise the same handwriting elsewhere in the Pragmatic Play Live range.
One round, step by step
- The betting window. A timer opens and you place your main bet, adding side bets alongside it if you want them. Once the time is up the window closes and nobody else gets in.
- The deal. The dealer deals one pair of cards that goes to every player, plus one face-up card for themselves.
- Decisions. You hit, stand or double — and you decide only for yourself. If you fail to react in time, a default action finishes the round on your behalf.
- The dealer's hand. The dealer plays out their hand according to the table rules, which you will find in the game's info panel.
- Settlement. Every branch is compared with the dealer's hand separately, so two players who started from the same opening pair can finish completely differently.
The whole thing takes less time than the description suggests. That is exactly where the format earns its keep.
The figures behind the game and where they come from
We list the parameters as the provider publishes them. The verification date says when we last checked them.
| Game | Studio | RTP | Format | Mechanics | Source | Verification date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ONE Blackjack | Pragmatic Play Live | 99.29% | blackjack with an unlimited number of seats | one shared hand for all players, fast rounds, individual side bets | Pragmatic Play Live | 2026-09-17 |
The 99.29% figure applies to the main bet and assumes a player who sticks to optimal strategy. Decide by feel and it drops; on side bets it does not hold at all.
Side bets and insurance
The table carries its own set of optional bets, and they close at the same moment as the main one. They work with what is on the table at the very start of the round — your opening pair and the dealer's upcard.
So what matters is whether your first two cards share the same value, or what trio appears once the dealer's card joins them. The exact line-up can differ from one version of the table to another, which is why you should always read it in the game rules rather than in a review.
The same goes for payout ratios. Quoting them from memory would be irresponsible, because they belong to one specific table.
One thing is common to all of them, though: side bets return less than the main bet. They are there for variety, not as a route to better maths.
When the dealer shows an ace, the game offers insurance. Basic strategy generally advises against it, and it is not counted into the expected return of the main bet.
How it differs from Infinite Blackjack
Both tables solve the same problem and, at first glance, look much alike to a player. The differences sit in the detail:
- Studio and direction. ONE Blackjack comes from Pragmatic Play Live, Infinite Blackjack from Evolution. They differ in lighting, sound and the style of the dealers — a matter of taste, not of quality.
- RTP as stated by the provider. 99.29% against 99.51%. The gap is under a quarter of a percent and you will not feel it over a short session.
- Special rules. Six Card Charlie is the calling card of the Evolution table. Do not assume it at ONE Blackjack; check the rules in the game itself.
- Side bets. Each studio names and assembles them its own way, even though the principle — pairs and combinations with the dealer's card — is related.
- Pace. ONE Blackjack is served up more briskly, while Infinite Blackjack feels a shade calmer.
A detailed look at the rival table is in our Infinite Blackjack review. If you like fast rounds outside blackjack as well, Speed Baccarat runs to a similar rhythm.
A closer look at the 99.29% RTP
Blackjack has the best maths of any casino game, and ONE Blackjack bears that out. The number still needs reading with two caveats attached.
First, it holds under optimal strategy — that is, when you decide according to the basic chart for the combination of your hand and the dealer's upcard. Every judgement call made by eye lowers the value, even though a single round will never show it.
Second, it is a long-run average across an enormous number of rounds. About how your next thirty rounds will go it says nothing whatsoever, and no result is certain in advance.
A high RTP therefore means conditions that are less unfavourable than in other games. Nothing more and nothing less.
Budget, rhythm and a few closing notes
Fast rounds have one treacherous quality: you will get through considerably more of them in an hour than at a slow table. A budget therefore drains faster even when the stake stays the same — plan for the pace, not only for the size of the bet.
A simple habit helps. Before you start, set an amount for the session and a time at which you will stop, and play the first few rounds at the minimum stake until the timer stops feeling rushed.
ONE Blackjack is a good choice for players who want to start immediately and would rather not think about free seats. It suits those who come for a calm table atmosphere and a chat with the dealer rather less.
